Originally from Hidalgo, Texas, Vivian grew up surrounded by pets including dogs, cats, birds, a rabbit, and fish. Being around animals from a young age sparked her passion for working with them. At the time, she wasn’t sure medicine was the path, but she always knew her purpose involved animals.
She began volunteering at local shelters in her hometown and spent multiple summers shadowing a family veterinarian, an experience that later encouraged her to take the clinical route more seriously.
Vivian earned a Biomedical Sciences degree from Texas A&M University, graduating in 2020. During undergrad, she worked in the university veterinary hospital through most of her senior year and continued for three years post-graduation, gaining extensive clinical and technical experience.
She later entered vet school at Western University of Health Sciences and is currently a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine student with an expected graduation year of 2027.
She hasn’t visited Las Vegas since early childhood, and now as an adult, she is looking forward to exploring the city from a new perspective.
During her externship, Vivian is focused on becoming more comfortable in the doctor role, gaining hands-on clinical experience, building confidence, and embracing the transition from veterinary technician into becoming the doctor.
In her free time, she enjoys reading, hiking, working out, playing sports, spending time with friends, and staying active through competition and outdoor activities.
