Welcome to our newest extern, Tyron!
Tyron, originally from Anchorage, Alaska and later raised in Tacoma, Washington, discovered his passion for animals during a hot Alaskan summer when he was just 8 years old. Witnessing a dog chained up in a backyard without water in the summer heat, he felt a strong desire to make a difference for animal lives.
Throughout his life, Tyron has sought out numerous volunteer opportunities, including a high school program that assisted community members with their pets. As a volunteer, he was able to shadow doctors and work as an assistant, gaining invaluable insights into the veterinary field. This experience solidified his decision to pursue veterinary medicine.
Tyron graduated from Washington State University in 2020 and is currently enrolled at the University of Arizona’s College of Veterinary Medicine, with an expected graduation date in August 2024.
During this externship, Tyron looks forward to gaining more surgical experience. He is excited to explore Las Vegas for the first time and is eager to further develop his skills and knowledge in the field.
Being the first in his family to graduate from college and pursue a doctorate, Tyron is determined to be a role model for his younger cousins, exemplifying that with hard work and determination, they too can achieve their dreams.
Outside of his academic pursuits, Tyron enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, camping, and fishing. He also has a love for video games, watching TV, going to the gym, and exploring new restaurants. At home, Tyron has many pets, including a Pomeranian named Twinkie, a Pekingese named Watson, Husky mixes named Nala, Bear, and Lion, as well as eight chickens.
