Talesha joins the team at Craig Road Animal hospital as our new D.V.M. extern. Originally from Jackson, Mississippi, she attended Mississippi State University and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Food, Science & Technology. Talesha is currently in her fourth year of veterinary school at Louisiana State University and has volunteered at various shelters in Baton Rouge.

Talesha grew up with a variety of pets including birds, cats, dogs and even frogs.  “I’ve always wanted to be a veterinarian, it’s about helping animals,” she said. At the age of three, she went missing and reappeared with blood on her clothes. Talesha remembers, she had been trying to help a mother cat deliver kittens, and that is when she knew that she wanted to become a Veterinarian.

Attracted to the high volume, family atmosphere, at Craig Road Animal Hospital she decided to apply for our externship program after hearing our hearing our hospital administrator speak at LSU. At home, she cares for a Dachshund named Nola.
