Born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey, Silvestrelvidio had a childhood filled with diverse animal companions, including dogs, birds, rabbits, mice, and even a crab. His frequent visits to his family’s farm in Guatemala exposed him to cows, chickens, pigs, and various other livestock, instilling in him a deep love and respect for animals from an early age.
As he entered adulthood, Silvestrelvidio initially set out to pursue a career in veterinary medicine but ultimately took a different path into the world of marketing. He completed his undergraduate studies in communications with a biology concentration at New Jersey City University, originally intending to venture into educational media. He began his professional journey at a science museum, initially working as a cashier. However, upon receiving his undergraduate degree, he transitioned to a marketing role within the museum.
During this time, he discovered another passion and shifted into the realm of education, working as an executive assistant for the president of Planning, Research, and Assessment. After a year in this role, his boss posed a pivotal question, “Is this really what you want to do?” This unexpected inquiry prompted Silvestrelvidio to reflect on his true aspirations. He realized that the office environment wasn’t where he belonged and admitted his original dream was to attend veterinary school. Encouraged by his girlfriend and inspired by the conversation with his boss, he made the decision to apply for undergraduate studies in preparation for vet school. His application was successful, and he began his journey towards becoming a veterinarian.
Currently, Silvestrelvidio is a student at St. George’s University College of Veterinary Medicine, with plans to graduate in May of 2024. During his externship, he eagerly anticipates the opportunity to think like a doctor and gain real-world experience beyond the confines of the classroom.
Outside of his academic pursuits, Silvestrelvidio enjoys exploring the culinary world as a foodie, constantly seeking new dining experiences and savoring a variety of cuisines. He also enjoys doing DIY projects, visiting museums, maintaining an active lifestyle at the gym, and cherishing quality time with his two beloved cats, Indi and Bojee.
