Meet Tiffany, our new extern at Craig Road Animal Hospital!

Born in Fort Lauderdale, Tiffany grew up in Barbados and knew from a young age she wanted to be a veterinarian. Tiffany said she has always wanted to help animals and has been interested in the medical field, and science since she was a little girl.

“When I had time to decide my life, I was like, ‘I’ll stay in sciences and I’ll do a technician degree first,'” Tiffany said.

She obtained her Associate’s in Veterinary Technology at SUNY Canton, and later graduated with a Bachelor’s in Animal Science at SUNY Cobleskill, both located in upstate New York. Currently, Tiffany is a fourth-year student at Ross University at St. Kitts and is finishing her clinical studies at Louisiana State University.

Growing up, Tiffany would volunteer at the RSPCA in Barbados and during her studies in New York, she volunteered at various shelters in the area.

Exotics, pathology, and dentistry are some of the areas Tiffany is interested in. During a veterinary conference at Ross University, Tiffany learned about the externship program from Dr. Tiffany Major. A former extern, Joshua, also told Tiffany about the externship program at Craig Road Animal Hospital.

“He told me he really enjoyed it, and I heard it in passing in the hallways, and the students that have talked about it really enjoyed it,” she said.

For her externship, Tiffany is most excited to learn more about animal hospitals, the workflow, and how doctors interact with the staff. She said later down the road, she would like to join the team at Craig Road Animal Hospital.

In her downtime, Tiffany enjoys watching TV, sightseeing, reading, and listening to music. She has an energetic, 2-year-old black Lab-mix named Lily.

Welcome to the team, Tiffany!
