Introducing Lindsay, one of the newest externs at Craig Road Animal Hospital!
Lindsay is from Fairhope, Alabama and knew from a young age she wanted to be a veterinarian. She eventually changed her mind and decided to go to medical school. Lindsay graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor’s in Human Nutrition. She also studied for the MCAT and worked at a hospice, but ultimately decided that she wanted to work in animal medicine.
“I was like, ‘This is not for me,'” Lindsay said. “I worked at a vet clinic and I loved it, so I took a little time off after my undergrad to figure out what I wanted.”
Currently, Lindsay is a third-year student at Louisiana State University. She recently finished her Master’s Degree in Public Health from St. George’s University in Grenada while attending LSU. Lindsay has volunteered at the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo and at local animal shelters in her home state. Lindsay is passionate about small animal medicine, surgery, and dermatology.
“It’s what I’ve enjoyed ever since I worked at the Spanish Fort Animal Clinic in Alabama,” Lindsay said. She heard about the externship program at Craig Road through word-of-mouth from other LSU students and is most excited about gaining experience outside the classroom.
In the little spare time she has, Lindsay enjoys playing rugby, paddleboarding, and was a CrossFit coach. She also played for the women’s rugby team at LSU. She has two dogs named Nala and Meg.
Welcome to the team, Lindsay!
