Originally from Media, Pennsylvania, Sara grew up surrounded by cats and dogs and spent a large part of her early life connecting with the world through animals. Her uncle, a trusted family veterinarian, cared for her family’s pets for years, and those visits sparked her early interest in veterinary medicine. Animal care felt natural to her long before she saw medicine as the path, but that curiosity eventually became undeniable.
Beginning in her sophomore year of high school, and continuing through her second year of undergraduate studies, Sara shadowed and worked hands-on at her uncle’s general practice clinic. That early clinical environment gave her meaningful exposure to routine patient care, treatment planning, and the inner workings of General Practice Veterinary Medicine.
During undergrad at Penn State University, Sara joined animal-focused clubs centered around swine and equine medicine, opportunities that expanded her veterinary foundation. While valuable, these experiences helped her clarify that livestock and farm animal medicine were not aligned with her long-term interests. She graduated from Penn State in 2023.
Sara is currently a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine student at Western University of Health Sciences and anticipates completing her degree in 2027.
This is her first time visiting Las Vegas, Nevada, and she looks forward to exploring both the natural beauty of Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area and the exciting energy of the Las Vegas Strip.
During this externship, Sara is focused on advancing her patient care confidence, strengthening clinical decision-making, practicing core medical and surgical skills.
Outside of the hospital, Sara enjoys hiking, running, and photography.
