Welcome our newest extern at Craig Road Animal Hospital: Patrick!
Patrick is originally from Detroit, MI and currently attends Michigan State University where he will be graduating in May of 2023 from the College of Veterinary Medicine. He received his undergraduate degree from University of Detroit Mercy and began a degree in human medicine before making the decision to follow in his father’s footsteps to Michigan State to become a veterinarian. Patrick was drawn to the externship program at Craig Road Animal Hospital because he wants to gain experience in a larger clinic with a high standard of care.
Growing up, Patrick’s family always had one cat and one dog, and he developed a strong love for animals. Patrick has had a connection to veterinary medicine his whole life through his father, and he felt that it was an area where he could make a contribution to the world.
At home, Patrick has a French Mastiff-Cane Corso mix named Nikki and a cat named Violet Marie. In his free time, Patrick enjoys staying active and has played hockey and basketball since he was young. He also enjoys playing video games and writing poetry, which he started after taking a poetry class for his major.
