Originally from Austin, Texas, Camille grew up surrounded by a variety of pets including cats, dogs, a bearded dragon, cockatiels, and aquariums. Coming from a family of animal lovers, her parents encouraged her involvement in the 4-H Dog project, where she learned responsible pet ownership and dog agility training.
Her journey in veterinary medicine began with volunteer work at an animal shelter, which sparked her interest in the medical aspects of animal care. During high school, she dedicated much of her time to walking shelter dogs. In her undergraduate years, she gained valuable experience working at Austin Pets Alive’s neonatal kitten ICU and parvo virus ICU.
Camille’s professional experience expanded to include working at a doggy daycare and boarding facility, followed by a position as a veterinary assistant at a private practice. A personal experience with her dog’s thyroid carcinoma treatment at a specialty hospital led to her interest in specialized veterinary care. This motivated her to join the internal medicine department at the same hospital, where she worked until beginning veterinary school.
Currently pursuing her veterinary degree at Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, Camille is expected to graduate in 2025.
During her externship, she looks forward to gaining hands-on surgery experience and working in a primary care setting.
As a first-time visitor to Las Vegas, Camille is excited to explore the city, hike at Red Rock Canyon, visit Zion, and discover the natural beauty of the area. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, baking, shopping/thrifting, and staying active at the gym.
