Originally from Charleston, South Carolina, Alexus grew up with chihuahuas and outdoor cats, which fostered her early interest in animal care. Initially pursuing human medicine, she discovered her true calling in veterinary medicine during her second year of undergrad.
Her professional experience began at a South Carolina veterinary clinic during her undergraduate studies, where she continued working for a year after graduation. There, she gained valuable experience treating a diverse range of animals, including dogs, cats, exotics, and birds. This experience confirmed her passion for veterinary medicine, particularly appreciating how it allowed her to bridge the gap between human and animal care.
Currently, Alexus is pursuing her veterinary degree at Michigan State University, with an expected graduation date of May 2, 2025.
During this externship, Alexus is looking forward to gaining hands-on experience and developing her skills in laboratory work analysis.
As a first-time visitor to Las Vegas, Alexus is excited to explore the city.
When she’s not studying or caring for animals, she enjoys relaxing activities like watching TV, spending time with her dogs, family, and friends, and engaging in water-related activities, especially beach outings.
As a first-generation college student, Alexus draws tremendous motivation from her family’s unwavering support.
