Casey, originally from Wiggins, Mississippi, discovered his passion for veterinary medicine through his early experiences with pets. Growing up with cats and dogs, he knew from a young age that he wanted to become a veterinarian. His journey began with volunteering at a local animal shelter, which led to his first position as a kennel assistant at a local animal hospital.
After graduating from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in 2017, where he served as lead kennel assistant, Casey continued his education at the University of Mississippi. During his undergraduate studies, he progressively advanced through various roles including vet tech, lead receptionist, and ultimately hospital administrator. Following his graduation in 2020, he began pursuing an MBA at LSU, with an expected completion in summer 2025.
Currently attending Mississippi State College of Veterinary Medicine, Casey has shown strong leadership skills as the former SVMA chapter president, the student representative for Craig Road Animal Hospital, and has held various positions with VBMA, including National Regional Leader. He anticipates graduating from veterinary school in 2025.
During his externship, Casey is eager to explore Las Vegas, particularly its unique scenery and entertainment offerings, including the Mad Apple show at New York New York hotel. In his spare time, he’s an avid traveler, having visited 27 states in the past four years. He also enjoys cooking and trying new recipes, and shares his home with two golden retrievers, Junior and Athena, and a cat named Karma.
