Originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, Katrina grew up with three cats and developed a love for animals at an early age. Her passion for veterinary medicine was shaped by both her desire to help people and their pets and her enjoyment of solving problems and building meaningful relationships. Today, she shares her home with two cats and continues to be inspired by the collaborative nature of the profession.
Katrina has wanted to become a veterinarian since she was a young child, but her passion truly solidified after she began working at a veterinary clinic. That experience confirmed that veterinary medicine combined everything she was looking for in a career: helping others, working as part of a team, and making a difference in the lives of both animals and their families.
She earned her undergraduate degree from Purdue University before continuing her veterinary education at Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Katrina is currently a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine student at Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine and anticipates graduating in 2028.
After attending Practice Operations Week last year, Katrina knew she wanted to return to Las Vegas for an externship. She was impressed by the hospitals she toured, enjoyed the collaborative environment, and was eager for the opportunity to continue learning from the V.O.S. team.
During this externship, Katrina is focused on strengthening her surgical skills while learning more about veterinary hospital management and practice ownership. She has a particular interest in general practice, emergency medicine, and the business side of veterinary medicine. Following graduation, she hopes to begin her career in general practice with strong mentorship that will allow her to continue building both her clinical skills and confidence.
Outside of the hospital, Katrina enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and boyfriend. She also enjoys working out, reading, and playing pickleball.
