Originally from San Jose, California, Fiona grew up surrounded by a variety of pets, including cats, dogs, and fish. From an early age, she developed a deep appreciation for animals and the special bond they share with their owners. That connection inspired her to pursue a career where she could not only care for animals but also build meaningful relationships with the people who love them.
Fiona knew she wanted to become a veterinarian in the fourth grade after learning that her teacher’s husband was a veterinarian. The profession immediately sparked her interest, and over the years, her passion has grown into a commitment to helping animals while strengthening the human-animal bond through compassionate veterinary care.
She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Davis before continuing her veterinary education at Western University of Health Sciences.
Fiona is currently a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine student at Western University of Health Sciences and anticipates graduating in May 2028.
Having attended Practice Operations Week in Las Vegas last year, Fiona is excited to return to continue learning from the V.O.S. team and gain additional hands-on clinical experience. After seeing the collaborative culture and high standard of medicine across the hospitals, she knew she wanted to come back for an externship.
During this externship, Fiona is focused on expanding her clinical skills, particularly in ultrasonography, dental nerve blocks, and radiograph interpretation. She has a strong interest in dentistry, emergency medicine, and general practice and hopes to gain as much hands-on experience as possible. Following graduation, she plans to pursue a career in either emergency medicine or general practice while continuing to build her confidence as a clinician.
Outside of the hospital, Fiona enjoys baking, crafting, and reading.
