Originally from Finksburg, Maryland, Ryan grew up surrounded by animals, including the family dog and several reptiles. This early exposure to pets sparked his fascination with biology, science, and animals as a whole, setting him on the path toward veterinary medicine.
From a young age, Ryan began shadowing at different veterinary hospitals. During his undergraduate years, he spent weekends working at a general practice hospital, and during COVID, he took on a full-time overnight role at an emergency hospital in Maryland. While in veterinary school, he worked as a necropsy technician. These experiences not only solidified his capability but also deepened his passion for the field.
Ryan attended the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where he graduated in 2022. He is currently pursuing his veterinary degree at Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine and is expected to graduate in May 2026.
While in Las Vegas for his externship, Ryan is eager to connect with fellow externs, explore Omega Mart, and go hiking. Professionally, he looks forward to immersing himself in the day-to-day practice, developing his skills in physical exams, observing how doctors interact with clients, and learning various techniques. He is also particularly interested in experiencing surgeries.
In his spare time, Ryan enjoys playing games, hiking, lifting, competing in obstacle course races, and spending quality time with friends and family.
