Sarah is a veterinary medical student at Purdue University and has been a Student Representative for Craig Road Animal Hospital since the fall of 2019. She was drawn to the program because she wanted to see what veterinary medicine was like in the western United States and to also explore what other veterinary hospitals are like so that she would have a better grasp of what future employers desired of her.
Sarah says she really enjoys getting to meet the Craig Road team and a peek inside the life of an extern.
“While I have not yet personally externed at Craig Road, it seems like a fantastic veterinary hospital and the entire staff seems kind and knowledgeable,” she said, going on to add that the program is rewarding for veterinary medical students.
“Craig Road Animal Hospital and its sister clinics are truly high-quality medicine practices,” Sarah said. “They manage to see a large number of diverse cases without sacrificing the attention and care that each patient gets. I aspire to be like the veterinary staff… and hope to learn from them in-person via an externship during my 4th year of veterinary school.”
