Amy is currently a veterinary medical student at North Carolina State University and will graduate in 2022. She is originally from Chicago and loves the warmer weather of The South.
Because of her parents’ allergies, Amy was not able to have any pets growing up, though she always loved animals. As soon as she was old enough, she started volunteering at a local humane society to spend time with animals. While volunteering, she was given the opportunity to work alongside the shelter veterinarian which sparked her interest in veterinary medicine.
While getting her B.S. at the University of Notre Dame, Amy explored many facets of veterinary medicine. She spent time working in research, with laboratory animals, and in wildlife/exotic medicine. However, her true passion lies in caring for dogs and cats and she is looking forward to becoming a small animal veterinarian.
Amy first heard about Craig Road at a conference and was immediately sold on the sunny location and impressive-looking facilities. After visiting Craig Road, she was impressed by the friendliness of everyone she met and by the level of high-quality medicine they practice. A general practice clinic that has the capability to work up a wide variety of interesting cases is like a dream come true!
Amy is looking forward to being an extern at Craig Road in January 2022.
