Originally from central Kentucky, Elijah grew up on a small farm and has been caring for a variety of animals over the years including chickens, horses, cows, sheep, goats and household pets. “I’ve always been really interested in science and chemistry so veterinary medicine was a natural intersection of two of my favorite things.”

Elijah attended Western Kentucky University where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry. He is currently a fourth-year D.V.M student at Ohio State University. During his undergraduate studies, Elijah spent time volunteering at a therapeutic horse riding center.

“Though therapeutic riding we help special needs children make connections with horses through riding and bonding.”

When he isn’t studying Elijah enjoys riding horses, hiking with his dog and trying new restaurants with friends. Elijah cares for a six-year-old Greyhound named Alden.
