Katherine is from Long Island, NY. She is currently attending The University of Florida’s College of Veterinary Medicine. She found her love for animals at a young age. Her mother influenced her dream to become a veterinarian. As a child, Katherine would say “I don’t want to be a veterinarian because I don’t want to hurt animals.” As she grew Katherine began to understand the relationship between patients and veterinarians.
Katherine found Craig Road Animal Hospital on the American Veterinary Medical Association website. She was motivated to apply by the technology Craig Road Animal Hospital had to offer such as: ultrasound and laparoscopy. For now, her goal is to get experience in the working field as a generalist. She finds detecting a proper diagnosis to be very fulfilling; “Veterinary medicine is like being a detective. You’re trying to solve a puzzle with just the little information that you have.”
In her spare time, Katherine enjoys hiking, nature, and watching comedy films. She recently began Geocaching, the recreational activity of hunting hidden objects by GPS. On her hunts, she has discovered dog tags that have been to Ireland, Barcelona, and Hawaii; which is further than she herself has ever traveled.
Please join us in welcoming Katherine to Craig Road Animal Hospital.
